“Where minds and experience meet”

Whale-watching – Sleeping Humpback Whale

Road Scholar is a not-for-profit organization featuring educational travel and learning vacations in the USA, Canada, and some 150 countries world wide.

The Tadoussac experience features a five day whale-watching program for adults 55 and over at the end of June and in mid-September. There is also an intergenerational program for grandparents and grandchildren between the ages of 9 and 12 in early July and mid-August. We see harbour porpoise, beluga, minke, fin, humpback, and sometimes sperm and blues whales.

Participants stay at the magnificent four-star Hotel Tadoussac overlooking one of the thirty most beautiful bays in the world, and just a short walk from the wharf, museums, boutiques and restaurants. There is a heated outdoor swimming pool.

Activities include a whale-watching safari, observations from shore, visits to a whale research museum, a native reserve, a peat moss industry, 200 foot high sand dunes descending to the river, and much more. We dine at a variety of local restaurants.

Speakers are from the whale-research station and the Saguenay-St. Lawrence Marine Park.
